Rutland is the east of England’s answer to the Cotswolds and perfect for a relaxing escape to the country.

The area is known for its beautiful Georgian stone-built market towns and villages as well as Burghley House, Rutland Water and green, rolling hills.

two chapel lane is in the pretty village of Ketton and four miles from Stamford, the Georgian market town.

The village includes two local pubs (one serving food), a convenience shop with a post office and two churches. There’s a children’s playground a 5-minute walk from the cottage.

Visitors have easy access to a variety of activities including sailing, fishing, walking, bird watching, cycling and golf, as well as a plentiful supply of cosy pubs, award-winning restaurants and cafes. Stamford is great for shopping and boasts independent boutiques, home-ware stores and specialist food shops. Local supermarkets include M&S, Tesco and Waitrose. The popular Burghley Horse Trials take place every September.
